Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Monday evening at 9:42 pm, Fayette Fire Department and Seneca County Deputies responded to 2563 Ogden Road in the Town of Varick for a kitchen fire. Deputies report the kitchen suffered minimal damage as the home owner, David Farwell, age 29 was able to put out the fire with an extinguisher.Farwell suffered from burns to his hand and was taken to Geneva General Hospital to be treated. Farwell was transferred to Strong Memorial Hospital’s Burn Unit for the burns to his left hand and forearm. Farwell is doing well and is to be released from the hospital tomorrow.The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
