Fox Run Vineyard highlights for 2014

Award-winning Fox Run Vineyards, on Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes, gears up for an active 2014 schedule of winery events. The winery will be offering a varied schedule this year – from detailed vineyard tours, estate wine tastings, a farm-to-table Food & Wine Experience in the historic barrel room – to the popular heirloom Garlic Festival in August.“We look forward to welcoming old friends and new at the winery this year. The Finger Lakes reputation as one of America’s great wine regions, continues to grow exponentially”, says Fox Run’s owner, Scott Osborn. “We receive guests at the winery from all over the world, eager to learn more about Fox Run wines and our cool-climate profile.”The Tasting Room at Fox Run Vineyards is open year-round. Guests are invited to sample current vintages including exclusive, small-lot releases not available commercially. Structured tastings are $5 and showcase seven different wines, with flights of dry and off-dry styles, giving guests an opportunity to discover Fox Run’s lovely varietals – including the award-winning Rieslings, Lemberger, and Cabernet Franc. The Riesling Geology Series highlights the geological terroir of their Seneca Lake Vineyards, and the Fortified Wine Series offers a unique range, including a Tawny, Ruby-Style, and the latest addition – Hedonia, a white port made from Traminette grapes. Visitors are encouraged to take a walking tour through the vineyards and winemaking facility to learn the history of Fox Run and winemaking in the Finger Lakes for $5, or enjoy a combined tour and tasting for $8. For either the tasting alone, or the combined tour and tasting, a $2 coupon is offered toward the purchase of one bottle of wine – valid that same day.
