Medication drop off in Cayuga County – FingerLakes1.com Archive

Sheriff David would like to inform the residents of Cayuga County, who are looking to dispose of excess medications, that they can now dispose of their excess and/or expired prescription or over the counter medications at the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office. A medication depository has been placed in the front entrance way of the Cayuga County Public Safety Building located at 7445 County House Rd. in the Town of Sennett. The collection site is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Medications can be dropped off with no questions asked and is strictly anonymous.Properly disposing of excess medications is everyone’s responsibility as a matter of public safety. More than 70 percent of young people abusing prescription pain relievers get them through friends or family, a statistic that includes taking them from the family medicine cabinet. This collection site now offers residents of Cayuga County a safe and legal means in which to dispose of their drugs.
