Conditions continue to worsen across the Finger Lakes prompting travel advisories from local law enforcement agencies. In the last half-hour FingerLakes1.com has received notices from the Cayuga, Seneca and Yates County Sheriff’s Departments advising no unnecessary travel.CAYUGA COUNTY:Please be advised that a NO UNNECESSARY TRAVEL RESTRICTION is hereby issued for all of Cayuga County beginning Wednesday, March 12, 2014 until 9:00 am Thursday, March 13, 2014. Hazardous conditions will exist, but the decision to drive is left to the discretion of the traveler. The Cayuga County Highway Department and the City of Auburn has employed all plows to clear and salt roadways. If roads are wet or snow is present, drive with extra regard for your speed and those around you especially on curves, hills and the bridges which usually freeze well before the rest of the roadway. Be sure to give yourself plenty of stopping distance especially on icy roads. This current storm will be getting progressively worse as the day continues with the most snow falling from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The worst part of the storm will be the blowing and drifting snow which at times may make visibility unsafe. This storm will continue overnight coming to an end on Thursday morning.SENECA COUNTY:
