On March 11, 2014, at about 1:25pm, the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested two individuals in connection with an investigation into the sale and distribution of heroin in the Seneca Falls and Waterloo area. Sheriff’s Investigators initiated a traffic stop and executed a search warrant on a vehicle on Border City Road in the Town of Waterloo. Sheriff’s Investigators seized a total of forty-eight (48) individually packaged baggies of heroin and a quantity of United States currency.Charged were the following:John A. Stahl, 49, of 9 Clinton Street, Seneca Falls, New York, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a Class B Felony. It is alleged that Stahl possessed thirty (30) of the individually packaged baggies of heroin. Stahl was arraigned in the Waterloo Town Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $1,000 cash bail/$2,000 secured bond. Stahl is to reappear in the Waterloo Town Court on March 14, 2014 at 5pm.Thomas R. Gushlaw Jr., 43, of 315 East Williams Street, Waterloo, New York, was also charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a Class B Felony. It is alleged that Stahl possessed eighteen (18) of the individually packaged baggies of heroin. Gushlaw was arraigned in the Lodi To wn Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $1,000 cash bail/$2,000 secured bond. Gushlaw is to reappear in the Lodi Town Court on March 17, 2014 at 10am.The Narcotics Unit was assisted on this investigation and arrests by members of the Geneva Police Department, Seneca Falls Police Department, Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID), and Sheriff’s Uniform Road Patrol.
