Town of Seneca Falls Police Department would like to warn residents and businesses of a phone scam involving utility companies. SF Police Department reports that a caller will state that the homeowner or business is behind on their account and that they should purchase a “Green Dot MoneyPak Card” for a specific amount, to avoid their service from being shutoff. After the cards are received they are to contact the caller to provide card information.Be advised that no account information should be given over the phone and if a call is received to verify with the utility company providing your service before obtaining such cards.Any questions or concerns, please contact the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department at 315-568-4850.
