Crack cocaine arrest in Seneca Falls Thursday

On Thursday, the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested Taneisha N. Brooks, age 32, of Auburn Road in Seneca Falls, on several charges following an investigation into the distribution of crack cocaine in the Seneca Falls community.The investigation concluded with a search warrant being executed at her residence in the Town of Seneca Falls by members of the Sheriff’s Office and Seneca Falls Police Department. Following the search warrant execution, Sheriff’s Investigators located and seized a quantity of crack cocaine, nearly $800 in United States Currency, and two daggers. It was also learned that three children under the age of thirteen reside in the home.Brooks was charged with:Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a Class B FelonyCriminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, a Class D FelonyCriminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, Class D FeloniesUnlawfully Dealing with a Child in the First Degree, Class A MisdemeanorsBrooks was arraigned in the Waterloo Town Court before Justice Folk. Brooks was remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash bail/$10,000 secured bond. Brooks is to reappear in the Sene ca Falls Town Court on February 10, 2014 at 7pm.Sheriff’s Investigators are working closely with Seneca County Child Protective Services on this case.
