The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that, on Monday afternoon at about 3:22 pm, Deputies responded to the area of State Route 318 in the Town of Junius for the report of a personal injury motor vehicle accident.It was later determined that a vehicle being operated by 56 year old Kathy D. Hoppell of Watertown was stopped in traffic on state route 318 at a red light waiting to turn into the outlet mall. A westbound vehicle being operated by 43 year old Tisha D. Dockery of Clifton Springs failed to stop for the red light and lost control of her vehicle on the slippery roadway.Dockery’s vehicle slid through the intersection and struck Hoppell’s vehicle head-on causing heavy damage to both vehicles. Hoppell was transported to Geneva General by Finger Lakes Ambulance for arm pain and her two passengers, Kelly N. Callahan age 37 of Watertown and her son, 8 year old Quinn Callahan, were transported to Geneva General. Kelly complained of stomach pain and her son, who was restrained in a child safety seat sustained a minor head injury.The operator of the other vehicle, Dockery was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for neck and back pain. Dockery was issued a ticket for speed not reasonable and prudent for road conditions returnable to the Town of Junius Court on the 11th of February.Deputies were assisted on scene by the New York State Police along with crews from North Seneca, Finger Lakes Ambulance and the Junius Fire Department.
