Penn Yan man sent nude pics to minor – FingerLakes1.com Archive

On Friday evening, Penn Yan Police arrested Robert A. Thompson, age 19 of Seneca Street in Penn Yan, following an investigation into sexual harassment of a minor.It is alleged that, over a period of time starting in December 2013, that Thompson sent nude images of himself to a 14 year old. Thompson also coerced the 14 year old to send nude images of themselves back to him via text message.On Friday, January 3rd, Thompson attempted to coerce the victim to perform a sexual act on him, threatening retaliation if the victim did not comply.Thompson was arrested and charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and degree coercion.Thompson was arraigned in Penn Yan Village Court and remanded to the Yates County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash / $2,000 bond.A search warrant was also issued and executed at 149 Seneca Street, the home of Robert A. Thompson, on January 4th. The search revealed additional evidence that was confiscated and is currently being analyzed.The investigation is ongoing and police believe it is possible there may be additional victims.Anyone who as additional information or may have had similar contact with Thompson is asked to call the Penn Yan Police Department at 315-536-4426.
