On Thursday, Penn Yan Village Police arrested two woman after investigation revealed that they stole a donation container full of money for a local young child’s cancer benefit from Byrne Dairy on Christmas Eve. Police learned that the stolen benefit money was later used to purchase heroin.Arrested and charged with petit larceny and conspiracy in the 6th degree were Nichole D. Homkes, age 20 of Outlet Road in Penn Yan, and Tasha R. Morehouse, age 21 of Dundee. Homkes was additionally charged with making a false punishable statement after filing a false statement with police.Both women are scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court on Monday.
