The Jesse Alexander Band will be performing a concert as a fundraiser to benefit students from South Seneca, Romulus, and Trumansburg who will be traveling to Ireland, Wales, and England this April. The event will be held at the South Seneca MS/HS School Auditorium in Ovid on January 11th at 7:00 pm. All proceeds from the concert will go directly towards travel expenses of the educational trip.The Jesse Alexander Band will provide an enjoyable evening of authentic bluegrass music in the comfort of the new South Seneca Auditorium. Bluegrass music combines Appalachian string band music with jazz and blues making it a unique form of American music. Bluegrass vocals are known for their high, lonesome sound and close three part harmonies. The Jesse Alexander Band is earning notoriety among bluegrass fans from the northern Adirondacks of New York to the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina.Opening the show will be Tru Bleu whose original music has become popular at the many area wineries and clubs where they perform.Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students. Children under 13 are admitted free with a paying adult. Tickets may be purchased from participating students and will be available at the door.
