Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a personal injury motor vehicle accident on Waterloo Geneva Road about 1/2 mile west of Reed Road on Wednesday night in the Town of Waterloo involving a Waterloo Police Department marked patrol unit and a drunk driver.Sheriff’s Deputies state a westbound vehicle, operated by Josef A. Ufholz, age 71 of Waterloo Geneva Road crossed the center line and attempted to make a left hand turn in front of an eastbound Waterloo Police Department patrol unit causing the accident. Deputies report that Patrolman Chechak took evasive action in an attempt to avoid the collision, but was unable to, as Ufholz turned into his path.The Waterloo Police Department Patrolman, James B Chechak, age 26 of Waterloo, suffered a minor head injury and was brought to Geneva General Hospital by a private vehicle for a check over and was released.
