Mynderse visited Clyde-Savannah on Saturday night to open both team’s 2013-14 boys varsity basketball season. It would be a rematch of last season’s meeting in the NYS Class C qualifying tournament in which Mynderse ended Clyde’s season with a 15 point victory on a neutral court in Waterloo. On Saturday night, the Golden Eagles would get their revenge with a 63-57 victory in a game that wasn’t as close as the score indicated. The big-man tandem of Joemaine Bogan and Kam Disanto combines for 43 of Clyde’s 63 points and proved to be too much for an undersized Mynderse front-line led by senior Luke Ruddy. Disanto scored 17 while Bogan scored a game-high 26 including a 2nd half breakaway dunk that brought the home crowd to their feet.Clyde-Savannah point guard Joe Faniel added 12 points and 10 rebounds showcasing a nice pull-up jump shot while Golden Eagle power forward Michael Turner was dominant on the glass pulling down 14 boards.Mynderse was led by Ruddy who finished with 17 and freshman Brett Anderson scored 11. Also, encouraging for Mynderse was the play of another freshman, Devin Verkey who finished with 11.The game was broadcast live on FingerLakes1.TV. Watch the entire webcast replay below:
