On early Sunday evening at 5:15 pm, Geneva Police Department responded to a two car head-on motor vehicle crash on Routes 5 & 20 eastbound in the area of the Ramada and the Seneca Lake lakefront.Based upon the investigation the westbound car driven by Charlotte B. Ghaly, age 70 of Seneca Falls, was driven across lanes of traffic into the eastbound lane and struck a car driven by Andrew M. Lipiska, age 23 of Waterloo. Mrs. Ghaly was with her three old year old grandson en-route to an unknown location at the time of the crash.Mrs. Ghaly was taken via ambulance to Geneva General Hospital and was pronounced dead upon arrival at GGH.An underlying medical condition may be a causative factor of the crash.The three year old was transported to Geneva General Hospital for head injuries and was fully conscious and breathing at the scene.The second driver, Mr. Lipiska was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital via Mercy Flight for lacerations and leg injuries.Geneva Police Department was assisted by Geneva Fire Department. The investigation will continue.
