The Geneva Panthers varsity football team only had one blemish on their record heading into Saturday night’s Section V Class B Semifinal game against Newark. The lone defeat came at the hands of the Reds in early October. They would avenge the loss to advance to the Class B title game with a 22-14 victory.Malyk Daley-Pinkard, Dytalion Dennis, and Mark Suchewski each had a touchdown to round out the Panther scoring for the evening.Newark’s two scores came from quarterback Phil Tack who ran one in and Micah Wright who caught a TD pass from Tack.Newark’s season ends with a 7-2 record. Geneva stands at 8-1 and will face Wayne next weekend for the Section V Class B Championship. Wayne upset the top seeded Livonia Bulldogs on Saturday to advance to the title game.For Geneva, it is their second trip to the title game in as many years while Wayne makes their first championship game appearance ever.
