A brand new, state-of-the-art methane digester will be unveiled on Friday, October 25 at 11:00am at Lawnhurst Farms in Stanley, New York where government officials, industry representatives and community members will celebrate the advancement of and investment in sustainability on this multi-generation family dairy farm, owned by the Jensen family. The digester will produce electricity utilizing manure from the farm and waste from a nearby yogurt plant. Hosting the announcement is EnviTec Biogas USA Inc., a German-owned company with U.S. headquarters in Rochester. EnviTec was contracted to design and construct Lawnhurst Farms’ biogas digester and is the company’s first fully commissioned facility in the U.S. Biogas or methane digesters are a sustainability success story for dairy farms, while also providing numerous benefits for the environment and local community.
