Sheriff David Gould reports that the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary which occurred shortly after 2:00 am on Monday morning at the Pit Stop Convenience Store located on NYS Route 34 in the Town of Fleming. 3 Unknown males forced entry to the building by breaking a window and once inside attempted to forcibly open an ATM. The perpetrators were unsuccessful in getting into the ATM and then went to the office where they stole cash and several cartons of cigarettes.All three males were wearing identical white plastic Halloween type masks.
Detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying the males in these photos. Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact Lieutenant Joseph Weeks at (315) 253-3902. Anonymous tips may be left at cayugacrime.com.
