The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Monday evening at 5:45 pm, Sheriff Deputies responded to the intersection of Marsh Road and County Road 137 for the report of a personal injury motor vehicle accident.It was determined that the driver Richard L Dickens, 40 of Williame Road in Trumansburg was traveling north on Marsh Road when Dickens failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Marsh Road and County Road 137. Dickens continued north through the intersection and his vehicle came to rest in a field approximately 400 feet north of the intersection.Dickens was transported to Lodi Fire Department where he was then airlifted by Mercy Flight to Upstate Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.Deputies believe alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash and report that the investigation is on-going. Assisting at the scene was South Seneca Ambulance, Lodi Fire Department, and New York State Police.
