Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies responded to 9342 County Road 142 in Interlaken for a report of a structure fire that occurred at the residence. Deputies report that a detached garage that is used for storage of construction equipment caught on fire, when deputies arrived, the barn was fully engulfed.The property owner, Daniel Erickson, age 51, stated that he woke up to the crackling of the fire. When he looked outside the garage was on fire and he called 911.The Seneca County Fire Investigation Team responded to the fire scene to investigate the cause of the fire, their investigation is continuing at this time. Responding to the scene to assist with the fire was: Interlaken FD, Lodi FD, Trumansburg FD, Hector FD, Romulus FD, Ovid FD Fayette FD, Varick FD and Trumansburg Ambulance. There were no injuries reported from this incident.
