On Tuesday at 6:30 pm, Penn Yan police were dispatched to 148 Main Street in the Village of Penn Yan for a report of a child left in a vehicle unattended.Upon further investigation, police found that Sarah Manchester, age 32 of Penn Yan, had left her 1-year-old in the back seat of her unsecured car while she went into the Landmark Liquor Store.The child was unattended for several minutes while temperatures were over 90 degrees in the vehicle.Manchester was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and was remanded to the Yates County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash or $2,000 secured bond.
