The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Wednesday afternoon at about 4:00 pm, deputies responded to Whiskey Hill Road, north of Route 318 in the Town of Junius, for a report of an injured 3 year old male that had fallen from an Amish wagon.Sheriff’s Deputies discovered that Chris Schumucker Jr., age 36 of 1190 Whiskey Hill Road, was driving a horse drawn wagon northbound on Whiskey Hill Road while pulling a small wagon transporting lambs from one pasture to another. Also riding on the wagon were his sons, 10-year-old David, 6-year-old Victor and 3-year-old Lester.Lester jumped off the wagon and apparently attempted to get back on when he was run over by the wheel of the trailer.Deputies and members of the North Seneca Ambulance treated Lester Schumucker at the scene and he was transported by North Seneca Ambulance to Geneva General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.Also assisting at the scene were the NYSP and Junius Fire Department.Deputies report that an investigation is continuing.
