On Wednesday morning at around 12:39 am, Penn Yan Village Police arrested Dan A. Middaugh, age 39, of Liberty Street in Penn Yan for petit larceny and possession of a weapon in the third degree.The arrest was made after he was witnessed by an officer running with an air conditioner that was reported stolen from a residence on Liberty Street.Middaugh, who was highly intoxicated, had stolen the units from a vacant apartment on Liberty Street and was running with the unit to his residence.Middaugh fell to the ground due to exhaustion and was detained by police.A search for weapons revealed a metal knuckle knife in Middaugh’s pocket.He was placed under arrest for the above charged and arraigned in Village Court where bail was set at $1,000 cash and $2,000 property bond.
