On Thursday, July 25th, Penn Yan Village Police in conjunction with the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested Deanna Salamone, age 24 of Warrington Drive in Faireport, as a result of an ongoing investigation into the sale of heroin and cocaine in the Village of Penn Yan.Salamone was originally arrested by the Los Angeles, California Police Department following a traffic stop and was taken into custody. After waiving extradition back to New York, Salamone was taken into custody by members of the Penn Yan Police and New York State Police and was transported back to New York.She was charged with criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, both NYS felonies.Salamone was arraigned in Yates County Court where Judge W. Patrick Falvey set bail at $75,000 cash and $150 secured bond. She will reappear in Yates County Court at a later date.
