Two hospitalized after Romulus car v. buggy crash

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that Deputies investigated a PIMVA on RT 414 in the Town of Romulus involving a car and horse and buggy. Deputies report that the horse and buggy was southbound and turned left into the path of an oncoming northbound vehicle.The driver of the horse and buggy was John B. Stoltzfus age 18, of McCulloch Rd in Romulus. Stoltzfus was treated at the scene and transported by South Seneca Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital where he is being treated for head injuries and is in stable condition. The driver of the car, Beverly A. Gister age 64, of W. Wycoff Rd. in Ovid was transported to Geneva General by North Seneca Ambulance to be treated for a possible heart condition, Gister is in stable condition after being transported to Strong Hospital for further treatment.Two passengers in Gister’s vehicle, Menno S. King, age 16 months, and Priscilla H. King, age 31, both of W. Wycoff Rd. were uninjured.Gisters vehicle sustained moderate front end damage and was towed from the scene.The buggy sustained heavy damage and was also towed from the scene. Deputies report the horse was uninjured.Deputies were assisted at the scene by Ovid and Romulus Fire Departments, and the New York State Police.
