It may be hot outside but the farmers market is the place to be for cool savings on fresh, local produce. Come on down tomorrow (Wednesday) from 9AM to 1:30PM and enjoy the cool shade in People’s Park and savor local, fresh picked cherries, apricots, plums and a new plumcot, called Spring Satin, raspberries and black raspberries. Stay cool as a cucumber with fresh cucumbers, peas, green and yellow beans, summer squash, zucchini, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, beets, mixed greens and anything else that was ripe in the garden that morning. Come down and be surprised!Once again the Seneca County Office for the Aging will be at the market giving out the $20 Farmers Market Nutrition Coupons to those 60 and older who qualify (guidelines are VERY lenient) so come down and get your coupons to spend on fresh, local fruits and vegetables. And besides all the great produce, there is grass fed lamb, pork or chicken, local cheeses, eggs, honey, maple syrup and lots and lots of baked goods! Come and use your EBT card and buy anything the vendors are selling that is food stamp eligible. Stretch your food dollars with local foods!Fruit smoothies and a yummy lunch will be available for eating in the park on a picnic table in the shade. Come and meet your neighbors and friends and talk to the people who grow the food you will eat. Like Seneca Falls Farmers Market on Facebook to get weekly updates. www.facebook.com/senecafallsfarmersmarketHope to see you in the park!
