The Schuyler Health Foundation’s 2013 Family of Friends Campaign is focused on keeping Schuyler Hospital and the Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility strong, according to Foundation Executive Director, Michelle Benjamin. “For our 2013 Annual Appeal, we are asking our community to help build on all the upgrades we are making to facilities, technology and equipment by helping us to keep that momentum going,” said Benjamin. “Though we have made many changes, the needs are ongoing.”The Foundation’s purpose is to provide funds to, or for the benefit of, Schuyler Hospital and related medical facilities.Donors in 2013 may choose for their donation to go to either Schuyler Hospital or Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility – or divide their donation between the two.Honorary chairs for the 2013 campaign are Lori and Scott Welliver (photo attached).Benjamin said that the Wellivers are the ideal “faces” of the campaign, as they have been long-time supporters of the Hospital, and are both very dedicated to the Schuyler County community. Not only was Scott Welliver involved when his father helped build the original Schuyler Hospital, his company, Welliver, which he relocated to Montour Falls in recent years, is Construction Manager for current grant-funded renovations.“My dad had a cottage on Seneca Lake since the 1950s, so it’s always been a home away from home for me. Then Lori and I bought our cottage in 1977, and have been full-time Schuyler County residents since 1999. I have been around the lake all of my life. I absolutely love it, I love the people. I enjoy living in this community. Moving my business here was part of that, plus it’s a great central location in this part of the state,” Scott said.Lori Welliver has been a vital asset on both the Schuyler Hospital Board, and the Schuyler Health Foundation Board, and has also helped plan a number of hospital fundraising events, including the hospital’s biggest annual fundraiser, November Splendor.“After serving on both the Hospital and Foundation Boards, I know very well the importance of Schuyler Hospital to the community in providing quality healthcare, and to provide it in a location you don’t have to travel far for,” said Lori. “And Seneca View is of critical importance to our aging population.”Donors may give to the Schuyler Health Foundation on-line at www.schuylerhospital.org
