On Friday, Seneca County Sheriff’s Investigators, with the assistance of the NYSP BCI, arrested James C. Ector, age 38, of State Route 89 in Interlaken, for marrying a woman in Canandaigua while already being married.Ector was charged with bigamy, a class E felony, offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree, a class E felony, and unlawfully procuring a marriage license, a class A misdemeanor.The charges stem from Ector securing a marriage license at the City of Canandaigua clerks office then being married on May 4, 2013 in the Town of Varick while he was married to another woman. Ector was issued appearance tickets and is to appear in Varick Town Court on July 10, 2013 at 7:00 pm for the bigamy charge and at a later date in Canandaigua City Court for the other charges.
