In its 29th season, the Seneca Falls Community Band has scheduled eight concerts throughout the summer season. All concerts are free and located at venues in Seneca Falls and Waterloo. This summer’s concert schedule includes:Friday – June 28, Friday, July 5, Tuesday – July 9, Friday – July 12, and Friday -July 19, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in People’s Park in Seneca Falls; Friday – July 26 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Festival in Waterloo, NY; Friday – August 2 and Friday – August 9 at 7:00 p.m. in People’s Park in Seneca Falls. Rain location for all concerts is at the Seneca Falls Community Center.The band’s director is the popular musician, Andy Stobie who plays trumpet and also conducts the well-known Greater Finger Lakes Jazz Orchestra. The Seneca Falls Community Band plays a mix of pop music, Broadway show tunes, popular marches, orchestral and classic arrangements, as well as specially commissioned works.“We offer many different styles of music, as well as new and familiar pieces of music for our listeners’ pleasure this summer,” said Janelle Bradshaw, the band’s President. “Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on and come to enjoy summer evenings with the Seneca Falls Community Band. If you play an instrument and would like to join us, please do that too! We rehearse once a week and new members are always welcome.”According to Andy Stobie, “Most rehearsals are on Thursday evenings, and we welcome anyone who is interested in playing with this community band.
