Two from Middlesex airlifted from Junius crash

On Monday afternoon at 2:15 pm, Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at the scene of a personal injury auto accident just east of Whiskey Hill Road on State Route 318 in the Town of Junius.A car driven by Lynn A. Pinette, age 28, of South Vine Valley in Middlesex, was traveling west on State Route 318 and pulled into the path of a west bound tractor trailer driven James H. Simpson, age 61, of Buffalo, NY.Both vehicles then went off the north side of the road and into the open field west of Whiskey Hill Road. The trailer which was loaded with non-hazardous dirt rolled over after partially disconnecting from the tractor.Pinette was trapped in her vehicle and was extricated by firefighters from the Waterloo and Junius Fire Departments. Pinette was treated at the scene by North Seneca Ambulance then flown by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries.A passenger in the Pinette vehicle, Jason R. Donahue, age 33, of Middlesex was treated at the scene by North Seneca Ambulance and flown to Strong Memorial by Mercy Flight.Route 318 was closed for two hours while deputies conducted the accident investigation.The investigation is continuing.
