Seneca County drug take-back day a success

Seneca County Sheriff Jack S. Stenberg reports that the recent DEA sponsored National Drug Take Back Day in Seneca County yielded over 150 pounds of unused or outdated medications.Every year, this event grows in popularity as a way for persons to dispose of unused or outdated medication in a safe and responsible manner. This year is no exception as we had 60 citizens who took advantage of two drop off sites manned by Sheriff’s Deputies. Since participating in this National program over 200 pounds of prescription medication in Seneca County alone have been disposed of in a proper manner and won’t be flushed down the drain or left in homes as an attractive target for thieves.“Any resident at any time can contact the Seneca County Sheriff’s throughout the y ear and turn over unused or outdated medication which will be properly disposed of”, said Sheriff Stenberg
