Sheriff David Gould reports that the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is offering a Boater’s Safety Course to kick-off Boating Safety Week and participate in the Nationwide Ready, Set, Wear It! event attempting to set a World Record for the number of people wearing a life jacket.The course is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm at the Scipio Fire House at 3550 State Route 34 in Scipio, NY.All attendees are encouraged to bring a life jacket.There is no cost for the course & lunch will be provided.Open to Adults and Children 10 and older.NYS Boater Safety Cards issued by New York. There is a $10 NYS fee for adults over 18.Register with Deputy Nedza at 294-8145 or jnedza@cayugacounty.us
