PY Police: Employee photographed patient’s genitals

Christina A. Elwell, age 36 of Benton, was arrested by Penn Yan Police on Thursday evening after an investigation into an incident at The Homestead facility.Police allege that Elwell took a photo with her mobile device of a patients genitals and then texted the photo to another employee. That employee alerted management which conducted an internal investigation and notified authorities.Police charged Elwell with unlawful surveillance 2nd degree, a class E felony, and dissemination of an unlawful serveillance 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor.Elwell was processed and the the issued an appearance ticket in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date to answer the charges.
