On March 18, 2013 at approximately 11:00 PM the Waterloo Police Department responded to the area of Church Street near the intersection with East Elizabeth Street for the report of gunshots in the area. Upon arrival at the scene, witnesses reported seeing a black male shoot a handgun at another male several times and all parties then fled the scene prior to officers arrival. Investigating officers from the Waterloo Police Department, Seneca County Sheriffs Department and New York State Police searched the area and did locate the victim of the shooting at his residence. This Village of Waterloo resident suffered two .9mm gun shot wounds to his leg. South Seneca Ambulance responded to the scene and did transport the victim to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. This case is still under investigation and if anyone has any information pertaining to this investigation, they should contact the Waterloo Police Department at 315-539-2022.
