The Irvington Bulldogs defeated the Waterloo Indians by a score of 78-40 on Saturday in the NYS Class B Girls Basketball Championship game at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY.Irvington jumped out to an early lead, and despite a 19-7 run by Waterloo in the late second quarter into the second half, it was not enough.Coach Mike Bree’s Indians shot just 29% from the field while Irvington made 49% of their shots. Waterloo committed 20 turnovers that the Bulldogs turned into 18 points.At one point in the 3rd quarter Waterloo had pulled to within 12 points but Irvington responded with a 33-11 run to close out the game and capture the state title.
