Top seed Batavia jumped out to an 11-0 run to start Sunday’s Class B1 title game at the Blue Cross Arena and Newark could never quite get back into the game before finally losing 58-41.Jalen Smith had the hot hand for Batavia scoring 25 points on five three-pointers to key the victory.For Newark, senior Anthony Lombardi scored 13 points in his final game in a Newark Reds uniform. Jaymee Rosser added 9 points and 8 rebounds and was the only player that had much success shooting early. Rosser scored 7 of Newark’s first 11 points keeping them within reach early.Coach Bob Havrilla’s squad ends their 2012-13 campaign with a 14-7 mark.
