Now, Lyons (18-2) will wait to see who wins the play-in state qualifier game between Mynderse and Clyde-Savannah on Monday. They will have the winner on Wednesday in the Class C State Qualifying game. Clyde-Savannah and Lyons shared the Wayne County League title this year beating the other on their own court. A potential rubber match between the two rivals with a bid to the State tournament on the line seems too good to be true. Also of interest, a potential Mynderse-Lyons match-up between two schools separated by just a few miles that have not met on the court in recent memory. Damon Hunter’s performance helped earn him Class C2 Most Valuable Player honors while teammates Devan Veeder and Tre’ Johnson were voted on the all-tournament team.
