On Tuesday night, the Newark Reds boys varsity basketball team punched their ticket to the Blue Cross Arena and the Section V Class B title game.Newark used a total team effort to overwhelm the #3 seed NE/NW College Prep by a score of 70-44 on the campus of R.I.T. Anthony Lombardi scored a game-high 17 points and pulled down 14 rebounds and dished out 4 assists. Junior point guard Micah Wright scored 15 and grabbed 9 rebounds while his sophomore backcourt-mate RonDerrick Morris scored 16. Jaymee Rosser added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the semifinal victory.Newark (14-6) will now face #1 seed Batavia in the championship game on Sunday at 3:00 pm in Rochester. Batavia (17-3) also won easily in their semifinal match-up on Tuesday easily defeating Livonia 75-36. They had led by a score of 48-11 at halftime.
