From the Wayne-Finger Lakes Leagues, four teams punched their ticket to the semifinals including Naples who extend their dream season and Lyons who avenged the loss that ended their season last year. Scores and results from all the games in Section V are below…CLASS AA1(7) Bishop Kearney 47 (2) Fairport HS 43 Fairport’s impressive season came to an end on Friday night at the hands of Bishop Kearney in one of the most anticipated games of the year in Section V. A sold out home gymnasium wasn’t enough to propel Fairport into the semifinals as Bishop Kearney prevailed on the road by a score of 47-53. Antwoine Anderson led Kearney with 15 while Syracuse commit Chinonso Obokoh scored 8.(1) Webster-Schroeder 46 (8) Webster Thomas 45 (5) Penfield 52 (4) McQuaid 51 (6) Rush-Henrietta 49 (3) Hilton 46 CLASS AA2(1) Irondequoit 66 (8) Brockport 44 (4) All-City Marshall/Fred.Thom. 54 (5) Wilson-Magnet 53 (2) Greece Athena 89 (7) Churchville-Chili 55 (3) East High 85 (6) Spencerport 39 CLASS C1(2) Mynderse 62 (7) Warsaw 42 Mynderse Academy will return to the sectional semifinal round after defeating Warsaw by a score of 62-42 in Seneca Falls on Friday night. Luke Ruddy led all scorers with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Senior point guard Brandon Passalacqua scored 11 and dished out 8 assists while sophomore Liam Caraher scored 12 points on four three pointers. Mynderse will face Addison next on Monday at a site to be determined.(1) Notre Dame-Batavia 86 (9) Williamson 63 Top seed Notre Dame-Batavia was too much for Williamson on Friday night advancing with an 86-63 win. Tommy Prospero led all scorers with 31 points for Notre Dame-Batavia while Stevie Thomson and Rufus Hall led Williamson with 17 apiece. Williamson’s season ends with an 8-12 mark.(5) Avon 44 (4) Bloomfield 41 Bloomfield was ousted on Friday night in their home gymnasium, 44-41 by Avon. For the Bombers (14-6), Sean Fitzgerald scored 13 and Austin Fergusen had 11.(3) Addison 51 (6) Gananda 50 Close, but not enough for the Blue Panthers of Gananda whose season came to an end on Friday night at the hand of Addison. Kameron Gray led Gananda with 12 points. Gananda’s season comes to a close at an even record of 10 wins and 10 losses. For Addison, Andrew Metarko had 17 points to lead the way. Addison will face Mynderse on Monday night in the semifinal round.CLASS C2(2) Lyons 66 (7) Cuba-Rushford 39 Lyons faced the team that eliminated them from Sectionals last season. This time, it was a different result from Zac Young’s Lions who defeated Cuba-Rushford handily, 66-39, on Friday night in Wayne County. Tre’ Johnson and D.J. Long controlled the glass finishing with a combined 27 rebound, 17 for Long. Johnson also led Lyons scorers with 16. Up next for Lyons, #6 seed Perry on Monday night for a trip to the Blue Cross Arena.(1) Caledonia-Mumford 76 (8) Campbell-Savona 47 (4) York 63 (5) Alexander 51 (6) Perry 62 (3) Geneseo 49 CLASS C3(1) Naples 57 (8) Bolivar-Richburg 42 Naples notched their 17th win in a Cinderella season that has head coach Mick Salter’s Big Green Machine in the Class C3 sectional semifinals. They will face tje #5 seed Kendall who will enter the game with an 11-8 record on the season. The winner will play for a Sectional title on March 2nd.(5) Kendall 46 (4) Dundee 38 Justin Brace’s 13 points weren’t enough to lift the Dundee Scots past Kendall on Friday night in Dundee. Les Miller’s Scots finish the season with an 11-8 record.(2) Clyde-Savannah 85 (7) Oakfield-Alabama 32 Clyde-Savannah rolled into the Section V Class C3 semifinals with a 53 point victory over Oakfield-Alabama on Friday night in Clyde, NY. Big nights from the usual suspects on the Golden Eagles roster. Tom Kanaley led all scorers with 24 points while Kam DiSanto scored 23. Joemaine Bigan scored 18 while Tom Molisani dished out 7 assists. Tim Jackson’s Golden Eagles (17-2) move on to face 16-3 Wheatland-Chili on Monday for a chance to play for a section title at the Blue Cross Arena on March 2nd.(3) Wheatland-Chili 82 (6) Early College 54 CLASS D2(1) Whitesville 62 (9) Canaseraga 36 (4) CG Finney 56 (5) Belfast 36 (7) Web.-Christian 52 (2) Scio 42 (3) Houghton (A) 53 (6) Lima Christian 44
