Ithaca man flips car in Covert, charged with DWI

The Seneca County Sheriffs Office reports that on January 26, 2013 at 01:24 AM, deputies responded to a personal injury motor vehicle accident on State Route 96 in the Town of Covert.It was discovered that the driver Justin T. Stranger, age 21, of Ithaca was traveling southbound on State Route 96 when he lost control of his vehicle and crossed the north bound lane and entered the ditch and overturned, coming to rest against a group of trees near the residence of 9523 Rt 96. Two passengers in the vehicle were transported by Covert Ambulance to Robert Packard Hospital in Tompkins County for minor injuries.It is believed that they were not wearing seatbelts. Stranger was charged with DWI, Aggravated DWI for operating a motor vehicle with .18% or more BAC, and Unreasonable Speed/Special Hazards.Stranger is due to appear in the Covert Town Court on 02/11/2013 to answer to the charges.
