The Seneca Falls Backpack Program founded in September of 2010 would like to extend a thank you to those businesses and donors who have helped them maintain their program. The mission of the Backpack program is to provide food-insecure children in the Seneca Falls School District with hunger relief during the school day, weekends, and extended breaks from school. The program is operated by volunteers so the donations go directly to the children. Currently there are 100 children served from pre-school up to 12th grade. With 40 weeks of school, 4000 bags are provided to those children who are food insecure (limited or uncertain access to adequate food). This year the program sincerely thanks Foodlink, Wal-Mart, Seneca Meadows, Seneca Falls Rotary Club, and numerous private individual donors. Also the Seneca Falls Backpack program would like to thank St. Patrick’s Church for providing free storage space.(Photo: Mark Benjamin from Seneca Meadows delivers a donation of $1,200.00 to Ann Wilkes board president)Contact to the Seneca Falls Backpack Program at:Seneca Falls Backpack ProgramPO Box 306Seneca Falls, NY 13148.
