Cayuga County Sheriff David Gould reports that the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a car/pedestrian accident which occurred at 7:12am Friday morning on Utica St. (NYS Rt. 31) near the intersection of Maple St. in the Village of Port Byron.A 14 year old female crossing Utica St. on her way to Port Byron School was struck by an SUV traveling west on Utica St. The teen was transported to University Hospital in Syracuse via Port Byron ambulance and is listed in stable condition.The accident is under investigation and witnesses are being interviewed. No tickets have been issued.Names are being withheld at this time.
