Penn Yan’s James Burdette led all scoring with an 18-point game while teammate Eric Johnson had a 12-point game. Midlakes’s Mason Jones had a 17-point game in the loss. Newark 70, Waterloo 38 Newark (7-4) toppled Waterloo (2-9) yesterday in Section V boy’s basketball action. Anthony Lombardi of Newark shot for 14 points while Jaymee Rosser and David Stone shot for nine total points. Waterloo’s Brad Steinruck had a nine-point game in the loss. Wayne 65, Mynderse 40 Wayne (11-1) stayed hot as they beat Mynderse (8-4) yesterday in Section V boy’s basketball action. Wayne’s Tre LaMora led all scoring with 20 total points while Mike Hollenbeck shot for 15 and Paul Dinehart for 12. Mynderse’s Luke Ruddy had a 12-point game with nine rebounds. Jason Anderson shot for 11 total points and Liam Caraher had nine points, all of which came from three-point shots. Brighton 73, Canandaigua 72 OT Brighton (6-5) edged Canandaigua (3-10) 73-72 in overtime yesterday in Section V boy’s basketball action. Brighton’s Courtney Clyburn and Riley Damerell each had a 21-point game in the win. Canandaigua’s Ian Brown had a 16-point game and made a three-point shot with: 10 seconds left in regulation to tie game. Patrick Coyne had three steals and two assists while Dillon Mergenthaler had six rebounds. Mitch O’Donnell also had a 16-point game and five rebounds. Clyde-Savannah 63, East Rochester 56 Yesterday in Section V boy’s basketball action Clyde-Savannah (10-1) beat East Rochester (5-6) 63-56. Clyde-Savannah’s Tom Kanaley led all scoring with 26-points while teammate Patrick Harper had 16 total points. East Rochester’s Phinehas Jacques shot for 17 points and Justin Reho chipped in 23 in the loss. Lyons 81, Sodus 32 Sodus (0-11) fell to Lyons (9-1) 81-32 continuing their 11 consecutive game losing streak yesterday in boy’s basketball action. Lyons’ Nick Cinelli had an 11-point game while Damon Hunter lead all scoring with 18 total points. Sodus’s Jonathan Derrenbacher had an 11-point game while Ezzra Steward shot for nine in the loss. Gananda 59, Williamson 35 Gananda (6-5) topped Williamson (5-6) 59-35 yesterday in boy’s basketball action. Gananda’s Kameron Gray led all scoring with a 17-point game. Williamson’s Stevie Thomson shot for 10 points in the loss.
