South Seneca hosting All-County Chorus

South Seneca Middle/High School has the privilege of hosting the All-County Chorus Festival, under the direction of Kyla Quinn, K-12 General Music teacher and 4-12 Chorus and Voice teacher at SSCS. The Middle School All-County Chorus is for grades 6-8 and the High School All-County Chorus is for grades 9-12. Schools participating in All-County Chorus are South Seneca, Lansing, Newfield, Dryden, Ithaca, Groton, and Trumansburg.The Festival takes place January 18 and 19, culminating in a concert at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday the 19th at South Seneca’s Main Street campus in Ovid. The concert is free and open to the public with a goodwill offering taken.Students are selected based on their home school’s ensemble size and their teacher’s recommendation. Teachers prepare their students ahead of time and the students come to South Seneca to work with their guest conductors during the festival weekend. Guest conductors this year are: Mrs. Kate Flock from Newark Middle School, Newark, NY and Mrs. Brenda Nitsch from Webster Thomas High School, Webster, NY. For more information www.southseneca.com
