FL-Wayne Boys Basketball Scores from 1/11

A busy night in Wayne-Finger Lakes boy’s basketball on Friday night included several close games, two games that went into overtime and two teams continuing their undefeated streak. The culmination Geneva 73, Wayne 62 Geneva (9-0) stayed perfect yesterday in Section V boy’s basketball as they topped Wayne (9-1) 73-62. With the win, Geneva has the inside tract on the championship race atop the tough Finger Lakes East. Geneva’s Shane Sweeney had a 20-point game with 7 rebounds while Steven Dolgos shot for 18, including five three-point shots. Mike Hollenbeck of Wayne led all scoring with 31 total points while Ben Bobo chipped in another 13 and Tre LaMora 10 in the loss. The gymnasium came alive as the first half ended when Shane Sweeney threw an-alley-oop pass to Terrell Johnson who slammed it home as the half expired. Mynderse 66, Newark 62 OT Mynderse (7-3) beat Newark (5-4) 66-62 in Section V boy’s basketball action. Brandon Passalacqua of Mynderse had a 15-point game with 8 assists. Passalacqua made a two-point shot with 0:02.1 on the clock to force overtime. Luke Ruddy shot for 17 points and had 10 rebounds while Connor Miller added 16 more points in the win. Newark’s Anthony Lombardi led all scoring with 30 points, including six three-point shots. Micah Wright chipped in an additional 16 points.
