Sheriff David Gould reports that the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 16 year old male in connection with a “burglary in progress call” received yesterday at approximately 3:00pm on Sharon Dr. in the Town of Sennett.Yesterday, several members of the Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police and the Auburn Police Department responded to a 911 call at Sharon Dr. for a report of the teenager encountering an intruder in his home. Today the investigation revealed that the teenager fabricated the entire incident.The teen has been charged with misdemeanor counts of Falsely Reporting an Incident in the 3rd degree and Making a False Written Statement. He was issued appearance tickets to appear in the Town of Sennett Court at a later date.Due to his age, the teenagers name is not being released.
