All the teams atop the Finger Lakes East league were in action on Friday night as well as four games from the Wayne County league as post-holiday high school basketball is in full swing.Geneva 97, Midlakes 38Junior Sims led all scored with 20 points while senior PG Shane Sweeney scored 13 and dished out 8 assists and the Geneva Panthers move to 7-0 with a 59 point victory over Midlakes in Geneva. For the Eagles (1-7), Dakota Norrison led the way with 11 points.Newark 74, Marcus Whitman 45The Newark Reds continue their winning ways and improved to 5-2 on the season with a 74-45 win over Marcus Whitman in Gorham. Anthony Lombardi dropped in 17 to lead all scored and Micah Wright had 15. For Whitman, Merritt Bailey and Rhen Grover had 13 each. Penn Yan was without their big man, James Burdette who was competing with an all-star lacrosse team as he prepares to play DI lacrosse next season in college.Luke Ruddy continued his solid play with his 3rd straight double-double scoring 18 and pulling down 13 rebounds. Senior PG Brandon Passalacqua also have a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists. It was Jimmy Ricci who led all scored with 21 points including 5 three-pointers and 5 steams. Shane Bloom and Eric Johnson had 10 apiece to lead the Mustangs who drop to 3-4.Wayne 77, Palmyra-Macedon 47The red-hot Wayne Eagles went into Pal-Mac’s gym on Friday night and emerged with a 77-47 victory moving them to a perfect 8-0 on the season.Senior guard Ben Bobo nailed four three pointers on the way to a game high 24 points. Tre Lamora recorded 20 points while Mike Hollenceck scored 12. For Pal-Mac (3-4), Mitchell Crist scored 15.Webster-Christian 66, HAC 63 2OTHarley-Allendale Columbia mounted a furious 4th quarter rally after trailing by 17 after the 3rd quarter but it wasn’t enough as they dropped their inter-league game against Webster-Christian 66-62 in overtime Friday night. HAC has the ball with a chance to win in regulation but couldn’t convert on the possession. Eric Tolhurst had 15 points and 16 rebounds in the losing effort as HAC falls to 1-7 on the season.Clyde-Savannah 51, Gananda 35Clyde-Savannah returned to a winning form on Friday night after dropping their first game of the season to Watkins Glen last week. They traveled to Gananda where they defeated the Blue Panthers by 16 points behind 1,000 point scoring senior Tom Kanaley’s 17 points and junior big man Kam DiSanto’s 11. C-S moves to 7-1 on the season while Gananda is now 5-4. East Rochester 47, Red Creek 41Phinehas Jacques and Justin Reho each scored 16 as East Rochester improved to 3-4 on the season defeating Red Creek on Friday night. Red Creek falls to 1-9.Lyons 79, North Rose-Wolcott 36The Lyons Lions remain undefeated (7-0) after dispatching with North Rose-Wolcott on Friday night in Wolcott. Tre’ Johnson led all scorers with 16 which HC Zac Young’s Lions maintained a balance attack with Tony Franklin, DJ Long and Devan Veeder all in double-digits. Jake Stevenson had 10 in a losing effort for NR-W now 3-5.Williamson 60, Sodus 32Williamson kept pace with Wayne County leaders Clyde and Lyons with a 60-32 victory in Sodus on Friday night. Tom Stephens had 18 while Stevie Thomson had 15 in the win for Williamson who moved to 5-4. Sodus, still looking for their first win of the season, drops to 0-8 on the year.
