Generations Bank to purchase former IGA

Generations Bank is in the final stages of purchasing the property located at 20 East Bayard St. in Seneca Fall, formerly an IGA grocery store. The 20,000-square-foot building will be renovated into a state-of-the-art headquarters for Generations Bank’s operations.“Moving to the Bayard Street location will allow us to consolidate departments and improve efficiency, which will ultimately lead to a better experience for our customers,” said Menzo D. Case, president and CEO of Generations Bank. “This is a cost-effective move from a business perspective, and the renovated facility will help beautify our community.”The new headquarters will house Generations Bank’s customer support services, including loan servicing, accounting, IT operations, data support and the senior management team. By the end of 2015, approximately 50 employees will be based at the Bayard Street facility. Plans are also in the works to use a portion of the new building for a retail/café space where local students could gain real-world experience by learning how to “run” the company. The bank’s branch located at 19 Cayuga St. will not be affected by the move.“We are committed to the Seneca Falls community, and we look forward to growing the Generations Bank business here,” Case said.
