Seneca Sheriff’s Civil Division to move on 1/3

Seneca County Sheriff Jack Stenberg announced that the Sheriff’s Civil Division will officially move from its current location at the Seneca County Office Building to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center, 6150 State Route 96, Romulus, New York and be open to transact business on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. In November, voters approved a referendum allowing the Civil Division to move to the County Law Enforcement Center in Romulus, New York.Sheriff Stenberg reported that after the close of business on Friday, December 28, 2012, civil division files, computers and records will be moved to the Law Enforcement Center and will be open to transact business with the public on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. The Sheriff indicated that persons who have conducted financial transactions electronically will still be able to do so without interruption during this transition and afterw ards.Effective with the opening on January 2, 2013, the Sheriff’s Civil Division telephone number (315)539-1706 will remain the same, however, the fax number has been changed to (315)539-1699. In addition, users of the services of the Civil Division are encouraged to review mileage rate adjustments which will be in effect starting on January 2, 2013. The Civil Office serves and executes the numerous legal processes issued by non-criminal courts. Among the legal processes serve d for the general public and the Courts are notices, summonses, subpoenas and warrants of evictions.
