Weedsport topped Cato-Meridian 52-23 yesterday in Section III boy’s basketball action. Weedsport is now 2-1-0 on the season while the loss marks Cato-Meridian’s fifth consecutive loss of the season. Weedsport out shot Cato-Meridian in three of the four quarters. The lone quarter Cato-Meridian edged by Weedsport was in the fourth when they had 10 shots to Weedsport’s 9.Cato-Meridian’s Matt Bolton had a 7 point game. Phil Schroeder and Zach Garrigan had the next most points with five apiece.JJ O’Connor of Weedsport led all scoring with 20 points. His team mate Joe Fritz had 15 total points on the night.Neither team will be back in action until Friday, January 4, 2013 when Cato-Meridian travesl to Tully and Weedsports hosts LaFayette. Both games have a 5:30 tip-off.
