Penn Yan police arrested Sean Weimer of Penn Yan and former Penn Yan resident Sara Kuras, ages 24 and 23 respectively, earlier this week for criminal possession of a forged instrument.The arrests follow an investigation into forged checks written on a closed account that were being cashed at a Penn Yan business.Police received the initial complaint from the owner of the checks, a Canandaigua resident that had been informed by her bank that someone had been passing checks from her closed account in Penn Yan.Both subjects have been arraigned in Village Court and are being held on bail pending further court actions. Kuras is also currently facing related charges in Canandaigua.
